Mr. Leathers has over fifteen years commercial real estate experience that includes acquisitions and dispositions, brokerage, debt & equity financing, underwriting, portfolio and asset evaluation. Mr. Leathers has represented two nationally focused investment management platforms in the acquisition of $3.2 billion in commercial real estate totaling 12.8 million square feet, of which a majority was healthcare real estate related.
Prior to forming Leathers Group, Mr. Leathers served as Managing Director for the Healthcare Capital Markets Group of JLL. From 2014 through 2020, Mr. Leathers has represented numerous healthcare clients on assignments with an aggregate value over $5.6 billion. Mr. Leathers served as the Vice President of acquisitions of American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust a $1.9 billion healthcare REIT that was subsequently sold to Ventas (NYSE: VTR). Prior to joining American Realty Capital, Mr. Leathers was Vice President for Grubb & Ellis Equity Advisors and its predecessor company, Triple Net Properties, where he directed $1.3 billion in property acquisitions and placed over $1.1 billion of financing and equity investments for affiliated REIT’s, institutional joint ventures and high net worth investors.
Mr. Leathers holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Leathers is a licensed real estate broker in the States of California and New York.
Mr. Leahy has 25 years experience in commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and asset management with primary focus on healthcare, office and retail properties.
From 2012 to 2018, Mr. Leahy served as Senior Vice President of the asset management team for 3 healthcare REITs sponsored by AR Global. Mr. Leahy oversaw the creation and execution of business plans for all medical office assets, negotiated hundreds of leases and renewals, oversaw all major capital improvements and was highly involved in the portfolio sale of the company’s first healthcare REIT to Ventas, Inc.
Prior to joining AR Global, Mr. Leahy served as Regional Vice President of Asset Management for Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. (NYSE: HTA). Prior to joining HTA, Mr. Leahy served as Director of Portfolio Management and Real Estate for Cole Real Estate Investments (now known as VEREIT). Mr. Leahy helped develop the company's due diligence procedures, portfolio management systems and helped the company grow its real estate portfolio from less than $75 mm to over $2.0 billion of assets under management. Prior to Cole, Mr. Leahy served as an Assistant Vice President for Lowe Enterprises, Inc. and also a CPA and Real Estate Consulting Manager with the Phoenix office of Ernst & Young LLP.
Mr. Leahy is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Arizona and was formerly a CPA for over 20 years. Mr. Leahy received a Bachelor of Science Degree with majors in Finance and Accounting from the University of Arizona.
Mr. Beckman is a 35-year veteran of the securities industry, including 15-years securitized commercial real estate experience focused on capital markets transactions, due diligence and market analysis. By 2010 he had provided direct sales and marketing leadership for more than $2 billion of capital raised for public REITs and private programs. He then started LD FIN and went on to become an industry consultant focused on commercial real estate serving the needs of sponsors, broker-dealers, RIAs, advisors and ultimately investors.
As an industry leader, Beckman was elected and served consecutive terms (2008-2010) on the Alternative and Direct Investment Securities Association (ADISA) Board of Directors. In addition, he spent time on the due diligence committees for ADISA, the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA) and The National Due Diligence Alliance (TNDDA).
At Grubb & Ellis Realty Investors as Executive Vice President of sales, Beckman was a voting member of the acquisition and disposition committees, expanding his direct responsibilities in commercial real estate, while managing sales, marketing and due diligence of investment securities. Post Grubb & Ellis he consulted for Sentio Healthcare REIT and became President of distribution for the Company. Through 2020, as President of LD FIN, Beckman was engaged as a consultant to resolve over 160 matters involving in excess of $3 billion of commercial real estate.
Mr. Beckman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with an emphasis in Investments from California State University, Long Beach. In addition, he has passed the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) exams: Series 3, 7, 8, 22, 24, 63 and 65. He was also previously licensed in California for life, disability and long-term care insurance, certified as a CRTP as certified by the California Tax Education Council, and certified in Macro Strategic Planning®.
